Basketball Stars
Overview
Basketball Stars is one of Miniclip's multiplayer hits. I joined after launch, while it was growing with new features.
The challenge
Keep an older live game fresh and consistent with Miniclip's newer sports titles.
My role
Game designer on live features after launch.
What I did
- Researched fashion trends and designed clothing for character customisation.
- Returned after Football Strike and led a revamp of Basketball Stars based on the UX I had designed there.
- Added stats to the basketballs, turning them into collectible upgrades.
Outcome
The revamp shipped as live updates. Today the game has a 4.7-star rating from more than 600,000 ratings on the App Store.

Customisation works when players see themselves in it.
